2006 Outdoor Adventure Packages Now Available
The Harraseeket Inn is excited to announce the 2006 Harraseeket Outdoor Adventure Packages. There is something for guests of all ages and skill levels. Whether visitors want to spend an afternoon kayaking the bay, or wrestle with striped bass on the Kennebec, packages have been created to offer something to everyone.
To ensure that guests are getting the most out of their Maine experience, The Harraseeket Inn uses only Licensed Maine Guides and Coast Guard Certified Captains that are personally known to the property.
Outdoor Wildlife Photography: Put on your hiking boots and bring plenty of film. Take a trip off to Swan Island and learn outdoor photography from expert wildlife photographer Craig Eucker. Swan Island is a pristine setting to catch photos of bald eagles, deer, turkeys, wildflowers and many different bird species. This is a half day trip. We’ll provide a box lunch for you and Craig will provide a morning of learning and entertaining anecdotes. What better way to spend a day? Available Memorial Day through Columbus Day, Saturday and Sunday mornings.
An Afternoon on the Rocks, A Rock hunting Adventure: Spend the afternoon at Perham’s chiseling away for treasure on this half-day, personally guided rock hunting tour. Enjoy Maine’s great outdoors as you’re learning all about the techniques of a proper hunt. Be sure to take some time to explore the gift shop. A box lunch will be provided as part of the package. Great for children and adults of all ages.
Guided Saltwater Fishing: Targeting striped bass, bluefish and mackerel in the Kennebec River watershed or Casco Bay. All tackle, fly spin or bait provided as well as coffee, muffins, snacks and soft drinks/bottled water. All angling abilities welcome. You can choose from either a 4 hour or 7 hour excursion. Available from June 1st, 2006 through October 26th, 2006.
Guided Freshwater Fishing: Targeting small and largemouth bass in the Damariscotta Lakes area. All tackle, fly, spin or bait provided as well as coffee, muffins, snacks and soft drinks/bottled water. All angling abilities welcome. *Note that Anglers fishing freshwater in Maine must have a valid freshwater fishing license. These can be purchased online, from L.L. Bean or we can arrange it for you with advance notice. Available from June 1st, 2006 through October 26th, 2006.
Coastal Lighthouse Tours/Photography Shoots: For those who would like personalized attention and a closer look, these can be tailored to specific houses. Many opportunities to photograph birds, and other wildlife. Available from June 1st, 2006 through October 26th, 2006.
Coastal Sightseeing: Experience breathtaking Casco Bay in a 20 foot HydraSports Center Console. The boat allows you up close and personal views of up to three lighthouses, famous Maine landmarks, countless islands, working lobstermen, and endless marine wildlife. Choose to eat lunch or dinner at an island restaurant or take a leisurely hike on a Maine Island. Your guide will provide history and “of interest” information. Available from June 1st, 2006 through October 26th, 2006.
Sail Casco Bay: Sail Casco Bay aboard a 32’ Pearson Sloop. Ghost along Maine islands silently as the sun sets over Portland Harbor and watch seals, harbor porpoises, and other marine wildlife. Enjoy your sail on “One of the Ten Greatest Sailing Grounds in the World.” Available from June 1st, 2006 through October 26th, 2006.
The Overnight Sail Away: Arrive on Friday or Saturday to the Inn and check-in to your room. Relax in the Drawing Room with our Afternoon Tea. Enjoy dinner in either the Maine Dining Room or the Broad Arrow tavern. After a restful night’s sleep, wake to our bountiful, buffet breakfast. It is now time to put your sea legs on and head to the Old Port in Portland for your sailing adventure. Come aboard the Schooner Wendemeen and enjoy the splendor of Casco Bay and the Islands. Help sail for the afternoon or simply relax with the water beneath your feet and the sky above. Savor a full dinner after you settle in to a quiet island anchorage. Awake to the aroma of a delicious breakfast and relish the quiet morning as we sail back to the historic Old Port in Portland. A truly unforgettable experience. Available from Memorial Day through Columbus Day, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The Ultimate Overnight Sail Away Weekend: Enjoy the Overnight Sail Away and add another night at the Inn. This three night package combines the best of everything. Check in on Friday to a luxury room, and enjoy a gourmet meal at The Maine Dining Room. On Saturday, depart 0n your overnight sail aboard the Wendemeen. On Sunday, check back in to the Inn and enjoy our Sunday Brunch and a hearty Dinner at the Maine Dining Room or the Broad Arrow Tavern. Available from Memorial Day through Columbus Day, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
